Company Press
John Buckingham had the good
fortune to work under Al Frank,
founder of the Prudent Speculator
in 1977 and one of the 20th century's
most successful investors. Twelve
years ago, Buckingham began managing
Prudent Speculator portfolios based
on Frank's value-based stock-picking
discipline.

This discipline requires looking
for stocks trading for low multiples
of earnings, sales and book value,
and ideally selecting those with
a nice cushion of cash on the balance
sheet. Selling is a bit trickier,
since it relies on a determination
that a stock is "fully valued."

As a working professional, I find
Forbes magazine to be an invaluable
source. They have the latest information
on all things business so I get
to stay on top of it all, no matter
how busy I am. I definitely think
it gives me a competitive edge!
One of the most popular financial
magazines since the beginning of
the century. Provides good general
information about business and finance,
as well as many special issues covering
topics such as: mutual funds, REITs,
real estate, and more!
This is one of the most highly
rated newsletters of all time, ranked
#1 by Hulbert (an independent newsletter
tracking service) for total return
over the last 10 and 20 year periods.
Time-tested and reliable, the Prudent
